Brooklyn woman pleads guilty for trying to rip hijabs off two Muslims

A Brooklyn woman will spend six months on Rikers Island for attacking two Muslim women, authorities said.

Emirjeta Xhelili, 32, pleaded guilty Thursday to assault as a hate crime for trying to rip hijabs — traditional head coverings — off two women walking with their children in Bath Beach.

Xhelili screeched “get the f–k out of America, b—–s” and “this is America, you shouldn’t be different from us,” during the Sept. 2016 attack.

Albert Fox Cahn, Legal Director for The Council on American-Islamic Relations, state thanked the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office for their “swift” conclusion to this case.

“It is intolerable to think that these young mothers and their children were targeted in broad daylight, on a street in Brooklyn, for doing nothing more than practicing their faith,” said Cahn.
